I acquired it knowing exactly what it was and exactly how I’d wear it, and then I kept it the way collectors do — pristine, waiting for the right moment. That moment has turned out to belong to someone else. It’s never been worn, which means whoever takes it home gets the first outing.
It’s one of eleven pieces I’m releasing from the archive this season. The thing I’ve learned about all eleven: leopard is a neutral, and the right accessory is a sentence, not a word.
The Ways to Wear
The way I’d wear it. As we move into the season, clip it onto a black short-sleeved shirt and throw an oversized blazer over your shoulders, sleeves empty. Keep the palette to one color — all black or all white — and finish with black cigarette jeans and a black patent pump. Edgy, but polished. The collar is the only thing allowed to make noise.
For the editor. Over a cream silk blouse and a camel coat, nothing at the ears, hair pulled back so the points show.
For the weekend. Snapped onto a grey crewneck with vintage Levi’s. The contradiction is the point.
